As promised leilol released version 0.8 of Open Arena on 8th of August. We began testing it very early in the morning. Currently you cant make a dedicated server using a binary from the package. Leilol is informed about it.
From the sweet things that came with this version is colored crosshairs- try /cg_drawcrosshair 23, weapons from missionpack, which strangely match with the weapons from Quake Live, some new maps, models, sounds, shaft which is less bright thus not distracting you from the enemy model. The input system is said to be different too, so maybe folks from 7.1 will switch over.
